Finca Güell
Av. de Pedralbes, Barcelona

Gaudi designed the stables and porter's lodge for the large Güell Estate between 1884 and 1887 in Barcelona.

An extraordinary wrought iron dragon guards the main entrance, a reference to the mythological garden of Hesperides by Jacint Verdaguer's long epic poem " Atlantida "(1877).

The structure of the stables is of brick vaults and parabolic arches.

The walls and the domes are covered with tiles, ceramics and mosaics. Today this is The Gaudi Chair of the College of Architecture of Catalonia.
